Letter, 1941.

Written from Provence to a friend in Paris, asking him to arrange the sale of a Courbet painting. He comments on the death of Delaunay and on a recent speech by Vlaminck, and discusses in detail his own attitudes on painting and aesthetics (a preference for convention over abstraction). He offers an explanation for his having joined the delegation of artists sent to Germany.
